Just another Vancouver Canucks appreciating blog. I love the Swedish trio consisting of Henrik and Daniel Sedin, and Alexander Edler (though particularly fond of Henke), Roberto Luongo, Alexandre Burrows, and Jannik Hansen. My boys are flawless and precious, and I refuse to hear otherwise. (x)

This is so heartwarming. What some might not know about are the obstacles Tootoo has overcome to get to where he is today. Constantly being up against the stereotypes tied to being Inuit (first Inuk player in the NHL), the suicide of his brother Terence, his battle with alcoholism (3 yrs sober last December), and the criticism that he’s nothing more than a grocery stick hockey player. Love him or hate him on the ice, he’s dealt with it all very openly off the ice and his giving spirit has endured.

In Teemu Selanne’s last game ever of the regular season, he went over and grabbed long time teammate and ducks legend, J.S. Giguere (Who is contemplating and will possibly retire as well at the end of the season) and together they did one final lap around honda center.
